Farooq Abdullah Thanks to PM Modi for Inaugurating Electric Train in J-K
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the inaugural run of the first electric train in the Kashmir valley, marking a significant development in the region. The newly launched train service between Sangaldan station and Baramulla station received commendation from National Conference Chief Farooq Abdullah, who expressed gratitude towards Prime Minister Modi.
Acknowledging the importance of this initiative, Farooq Abdullah stated, “This was a much-needed development for our tourism sector and the well-being of our people. Today’s milestone is a substantial leap forward, and I extend my congratulations to the Railway Ministry and PM Modi for their efforts.”
Highlighting the positive impacts of the railway connectivity, Abdullah emphasized, “The introduction of the rail network addresses various challenges that might arise with road transportation. Moreover, it facilitates the efficient transport and supply of goods and services. I am optimistic that this service will contribute to the progress and prosperity of our people. Although we had anticipated such a service back in 2007, the challenging terrain posed obstacles. However, those challenges have been overcome, and now, this service is set to commence.”
Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Abdullah expressed his optimism about the positive outcomes the new railway service would bring to the region, emphasizing its potential to boost economic and infrastructural development.
