Thousands of British Kashmiris Protest Against Pakistani Forces Over Alleged Atrocities in PoJK

Thousands of British Kashmiris Protest Against Pakistani Forces Over Alleged Atrocities in PoJK

London, June 15, 2026 [VoM News]: Amid allegations of misuse of force and human rights violations by Pakistani security agencies in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, a massive protest by British Kashmiris was held outside the Palace of Westminster.

Thousands of British Kashmiris gathered outside the Palace ki of Westminster to protest against the Pakistan Army, alleging that security personnel opened fire on peaceful protesters, leading to multiple casualties in PoJK.

The protesters called upon international organisations to take strict action against Pakistan over the alleged atrocities being committed against people protesting for their demands.

Demonstrators urged the international community to hold Pakistan accountable for civilian deaths, injuries, firing incidents involving protesters, and arrests carried out by Pakistani forces.

While the exact number of casualties remains unclear, several international media reports have claimed that more than 50 casualties, along with hundreds of arrests and injuries, have been reported.

Meanwhile, a video purportedly showing a senior police official from PoJK threatening protesters and warning of the use of force has been circulating widely on social media.

The unrest in PoJK intensified after the Joint Awami Action Committee, which had been demanding lower utility bills, food subsidies, and basic civil rights, was banned by authorities. Tensions further escalated after authorities attempted to stop a planned Long March towards Muzaffarabad.

The situation reportedly worsened after rewards were announced for the arrest of some protest leaders, triggering midnight protests, clashes, and firing incidents in several areas.

A memorandum to UNMOGIP on behalf of the people of Jammu and Kashmir strongly condemned the atrocities by Pakistani authorities in PoJK and urged it to send a fact-finding team to the region to assess the scale of loss of lives.

India strongly condemned the alleged firing on protesters and reiterated its demand that Pakistan vacate the occupied territory. The Ministry of External Affairs also called on the international community to hold Pakistan accountable for alleged human rights violations and misuse of force in PoJK.
