Donald Trump Vows to Sign Deal with Iran Tomorrow, Tehran Downplays Announcement
Washington, June 14, 2026 [VoM News]: A major relief could emerge globally if the agreement claimed by Donald Trump is signed on Sunday. According to reports, Trump stated that the Strait of Hormuz would reopen fully for maritime activities after the deal comes into effect, potentially marking an end to the ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
In a post shared on Truth Social post, Trump described the proposed agreement with Iran as completely different from the 2015 deal signed during the administration of former US President Barack Obama, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.
Trump claimed that the Obama-era agreement had allowed a pathway for Iran to move toward developing nuclear weapons, while the proposed new agreement would completely block Tehran from acquiring such weapons.
He further stated that relations between United States and Iran would improve under the new framework, adding that Iran no longer intends to develop, purchase, or procure nuclear weapons.
Trump also claimed that the United States would dismantle Iran’s highly enriched uranium stockpile under international supervision. According to him, the remaining nuclear material buried deep underground would later be removed and neutralised.
He warned of severe consequences if diplomacy fails or if the agreement is not implemented properly, stating that the United States has “the ultimate alternative.”
However, Iran has downplayed the announcement. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei denied that any agreement with the United States is scheduled to be signed on Sunday.
At the same time, Baghaei did not rule out the possibility of an agreement in the coming days, but expressed concerns regarding the American side and described the announcement as premature and hasty.
