Representatives from the United States, India, Japan, and Australia gathered for the Quad Counterterrorism Working Group meeting in Honolulu, Hawaii, spanning from December 19-21.

This initiative aimed to tackle pressing challenges within the region and uphold a free, open, and inclusive Indo-Pacific region.

The Quadrilateral Security Dialogue, known as the Quad, brings together these four nations to address crucial regional issues.

Led by Acting Principal Deputy Coordinator for Counterterrorism, Gregory LoGerfo, the multi-day event focused on enhancing cooperation among the Quad members in response to potential terrorist incidents within the Indo-Pacific region.

Discussions and presentations during the gathering centered on the evolving nature of terrorist threats, strengthening regional coordination, and countering the use of emerging technologies by terrorist entities.

The participants explored strategies to leverage the capabilities of the Quad, assessing how the alliance could effectively bolster the existing competencies of Indo-Pacific countries in combatting terrorism.

Information exchange and collaborative efforts underscored the collective commitment of the Quad nations to address and mitigate the evolving challenges posed by terrorism in the region.
