Grass Valley strengthens Ravensbourne partnership to support next generation of media talent
The collaboration highlights the growing role of universities as real-world production environments, giving students hands-on experience with industry-standard workflows, production technologies and industry mentoring.
MONTREAL, CANADA – May 12, 2026 – Grass Valley today announced its continued collaboration with Ravensbourne University London, reinforcing a longstanding partnership focused on preparing the next generation of media professionals for a landscape shaped by the global convergence of broadcast, AV and enterprise production.
As media production converges with enterprise and AV settings, universities are increasingly expected to operate as real-world production ecosystems. Through its work with Ravensbourne, Grass Valley is enabling this by supporting flexible, industry-aligned production workflows that match how content is created and delivered today.

The partnership builds on an established relationship between the two organizations, including earlier engagement around Grass Valley’s AMPP and ongoing collaboration across Ravensbourne’s production and academic activities. It also demonstrates a shared commitment to talent development, with several Ravensbourne graduates going on to build careers within Grass Valley, including progression into senior engineering and support roles.
Widely recognized for its hands-on and collaborative approach, Ravensbourne provides an environment where students work across disciplines – including creative, business and technology – on educational projects that reflect real-world scenarios in live production. Through access to industry-ready technologies and workflows, students gain practical experience aligned with the expectations of today’s media and live production industries. The partnership also creates opportunities for closer engagement with industry professionals and mentoring from experienced practitioners.
This collaboration forms part of Grass Valley’s wider global focus on education and workforce development. Initiatives such as the recently launched Future Playmakers Program, designed to support the next generation of live production talent through scholarships, hands-on learning and access to industry-standard tools, highlight Grass Valley’s ongoing investment in building a sustainable talent pipeline across international markets.

To further support this partnership, Grass Valley technologies, including the GV Orbit orchestration and monitoring platform, are being integrated into Ravensbourne’s production environment, helping simplify live production workflows while giving students exposure to the types of systems increasingly used across the media industry. Alongside this, Grass Valley’s AMPP offers a pathway towards more software-defined production, enabling students to explore modern approaches to content creation and delivery.
