Congress Leadership Discusses Rajasthan Assembly Poll Candidates
The top leadership of the Congress party convened on Monday to deliberate on potential candidates for the upcoming Rajasthan Assembly elections. The meeting was attended by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, former Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, AICC in-charge of the state Sukhjinder Randhawa, state unit chief Govind Dotasra, party general secretary (organisation) K C Venugopal, and the party’s Rajasthan screening committee chief Gaurav Gogoi, among others.
Notably, the Congress had recently unveiled its third list of 19 candidates for the Rajasthan assembly elections scheduled for November 25. With this announcement, the party has disclosed a total of 95 nominees so far, which includes 13 sitting MLAs, including a Cabinet minister.
The forthcoming Rajasthan Assembly polls will see 200 members elected, with voting scheduled for November 25 and the vote count set for December 3.
