Srinagar, Aug 28: The Jammu and Kashmir Finance Department has announced new guidelines for the submission of pension cases and service books, directing Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) and Pension Sanctioning Authorities (PSAs) to ensure both online and hard copy submissions.

According to the circular issued by the Directorate General of Accounts & Treasuries, the recently launched Pension Suvidha Portal will now handle the online processing of pension cases for retiring employees across J&K.

With effect from July 1, 2025, all pension cases are to be processed exclusively through the portal. However, during the transition, hard copies—including the original Service Book—must also be submitted to the office of the Principal Accountant General (PAG) in addition to the online submission.

The department noted delays due to some DDOs failing to forward hard copies after online submission. To address this, it has been decided that:

Offline pension cases will only be accepted for employees retiring up to August 31, 2025. After this cut-off date, no offline cases will be entertained.

PSAs must submit signed hard copies of pension cases, including the original Service Book, within five days of online submission on the portal.
