DC Kishtwar Inspects District Hospital, Orders Immediate Infrastructure Upgrades

Kishtwar, 30-09-2024 : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Kishtwar, Rajesh Kumar Shavan (JKAS), conducted a comprehensive visit to the District Hospital Kishtwar to assess its services and infrastructure. His visit focused on evaluating healthcare quality, punctuality of the staff, and overall cleanliness of the facility.
DC Shavan inspected various departments, including the Outpatient Department (OPD), Labour Section, laboratories, X-Ray, and ECG units. He interacted with both patients and their attendants to get feedback on the medical care provided.
Stressing the need for punctuality, he urged hospital staff to be prompt in addressing patient needs and maintaining high service standards.
Cleanliness was another major focus during the visit. The Deputy Commissioner directed ward in-charges to follow proper waste disposal protocols and ensure a high level of hygiene within the hospital premises. He emphasized that cleanliness is critical for patient health and comfort.
Responding to a request from hospital authorities, DC Shavan ordered the Executive Engineer of the Public Works Department (PwD) to immediately start the steel trussing project for the Eye Block.
He also instructed the Medical Superintendent (MS) to evaluate other infrastructure needs, ensuring that the district administration can address them accordingly.
In addition, the DC directed hospital authorities to ensure the functioning of the building’s lift system to improve patient convenience. Following this, he visited the Drugs De-addiction Facilitation Centre, assessing the treatment and rehabilitation programs offered to those battling addiction.
DC Shavan was accompanied by several officials, including Chief Planning Officer (CPO) Shahnawaz Bali and MS Dr. Yudhveer Singh Kotwal.
