Kishtwar, 20-08-2024: The first phase of a comprehensive training program for electoral staff in District Kishtwar commenced today under the supervision of District Election Officer (DEO) Shri Rajesh Kumar Shavan (JKAS).
This initiative is a crucial step in preparing for the upcoming General Election to the Legislative Assembly 2024.
The training, held at the GDC Auditorium Kishtwar, focused on critical aspects of the electoral process, including the operation of Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) systems.
The program is designed to equip polling personnel with the skills and knowledge necessary for ensuring a smooth, transparent, and efficient election process.
Simultaneously, a specialized training session on the Election Expenditure Monitoring System and Model Code of Conduct was conducted at the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex.
Led by Nodal Officer Riyaz Ahmed Butt, this session provided in-depth guidance on managing election expenditures, monitoring adherence to the model code of conduct, and handling postal ballots.
Additional topics covered in the training included the collection, transportation, and maintenance of EVM-VVPATs, and the organization of polling stations. IT applications, logistical arrangements, and other essential election protocols were also discussed.
An online interactive session on the Electronically Transmitted Postal Ballot System (ETPBS) was conducted via video conferencing from the DC Office, specifically targeting Returning Officers of all three Assembly Constituencies in Kishtwar.
This system allows service voters to electronically receive and cast their postal ballots from remote locations, greatly enhancing voting accessibility.
