    A full dress rehearsal for the Independence Day 2024 parade took place today at Chowgan Ground in Kishtwar, where all necessary arrangements were in place. The event was marked by the hoisting of the National flag by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kishtwar, Pawan Kotwal (JKAS), who was joined by Additional Superintendent of Police (Addl. SP) Kishtwar, Pawan Sharma.

    The ADC inspected the parade and took the salute from the parade commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Dy.SP) Dr. Ishan Gupta.

    The parade featured contingents from various security forces, including the Police, JKAP, CRPF, CISF, IRP, Forest Protection Force, and the NCC, alongside student groups from different schools within the district.

    The march past was a significant display of discipline and coordination, reflecting the spirit of patriotism and unity among the participants.

    Adding to the festive atmosphere, students and local artists performed vibrant cultural programs, which included patriotic songs and popular local tunes. These performances captivated the audience, drawing widespread applause.

    Senior officials, including SSP Kishtwar Abdul Qayoom (JKPS), PO ICDS/CEO KDA Dr. Rishi Kumar Sharma, SDM Paddar Dr. Amit Kumar, ACD Phulail Singh, AO DC Office Satinder Singh (JKAS), BDO Kishtwar Sanjeev Kotwal, CEO Kishtwar Javeed Ahmed Kichloo, DYSSO Kishtwar Jaffar H. Sheikh, and LDM Harsh Rawal, were present at the event.

    During the rehearsal, the Chief Guest delivered a speech, extending warm Independence Day greetings to the community.

    He emphasized the importance of the day, reflecting on the sacrifices made for India’s freedom, and highlighted the district’s developmental achievements. The event served as a powerful reminder of our shared commitment to the nation.
