Kishtwar, 25-07-2024 – The Shri Machail Yatra 2024 commenced today with great religious fervor and joy. On the opening day, senior officials, including Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Shridhar Patil, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr. Devansh Yadav, and SSP Abdul Qayoom, along with other key figures, visited the Bhawan of Shri Chandi Mata Ji to offer their respects and pray for peace and prosperity in Kishtwar and the broader Union Territory.
The officials conducted a thorough review of the arrangements and security measures in place, ensuring that all aspects of the pilgrimage are well-managed. They emphasized the implementation of comprehensive civil and security measures to guarantee a smooth and secure experience for the pilgrims.
This year, significant improvements have been made to facilitate the Yatra. The distance to Machail Bhawan has been shortened, with a motorable road extending up to Chashoti, reducing the trek to just 3-4 hours.
Enhanced facilities include lodging at Yatri Sarai and Tent City, as well as improved sanitation, water, and medical services. Additionally, the introduction of helicopter services and mobile connectivity ensures better convenience for the pilgrims.
A new online registration and donation system has been launched, along with a dedicated control room to assist pilgrims. DC Kishtwar has urged Yatris to carry their ADHAAR cards and passes for a hassle-free experience.
DIG Patil encouraged all participants to follow guidelines, cooperate with security personnel, and respect the pilgrimage site’s sanctity.
