Air India Empowers Women: Celebrating International Women’s Day
15 All-Women Crew Flights Operated
In a vibrant celebration of International Women’s Day, the Air India group proudly announced the operation of 15 all-women crew flights across domestic and international sectors. With over 15% of its cockpit crew being women, Air India stands as one of the leading airlines globally in terms of female pilot representation.
Empowering Women Across the Organization
Highlighting the significant strides made, the Air India group revealed that women constitute 51% of its workforce. The past two years, post-Air India’s return to the Tata group, witnessed a substantial increase in female employees, encompassing various facets of airline activities. At Air India Express, more than 13% of pilots are women, reflecting a balanced gender representation within the organization.
Inspiring Women Through Week-Long Programs
To further inspire women employees, the airline has organized a week-long series of programs, including webinars and live sessions featuring experts and role models from diverse fields. This initiative aims to raise awareness and provide inspiration across the Air India network.
As a special gesture to customers, Air India Express is extending free seat selection and priority boarding services exclusively to female passengers through its mobile app and website on this International Women’s Day.
Exclusive Benefits for Women Members
Air India’s Loyalty Programme, Flying Returns, is offering women members a fast-track opportunity to upgrade to the Silver Edge Club. This exclusive club provides benefits such as a 15% increase in reward points, complimentary upgrades, and priority check-in services.
This year’s International Women’s Day theme, “Invest in women: Accelerate Progress,” resonates with Air India’s commitment to fostering gender inclusivity and recognizing the invaluable contributions of women in aviation.
