IFRC Chief Urges Powerful Actions and Aid for Civilians in Gaza War
Jagan Chapagain, the head of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, has emphasized the urgent need for powerful actions by all parties involved in the Gaza war.
In a statement on X, Chapagain highlighted the staggering needs in Gaza, stating that they will only increase if the hostilities persist.
Civilians in Gaza are experiencing unprecedented levels of indignity, misery, and suffering, facing desperate needs for essentials such as food, water, shelter, and medical care, all while lacking a sense of safety.
Chapagain called on the conflicting parties to prioritize the protection of civilians and healthcare workers and urged a significant scale-up of aid efforts to address the critical humanitarian situation in Gaza.
