In a shocking turn of events, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Nisha Napit Sharma, stationed in Shahpura, Dindori district, was reportedly murdered by her husband, Manish Sharma. The incident unfolded at her official residence on Sunday, with the accused attempting to conceal evidence by laundering clothes, pillow, bedsheets, and more in a washing machine, according to police officials.

Stressful Marriage and Alleged Motive

SDM Nisha Napit Sharma and Manish Sharma tied the knot in 2020 at Gaytri Mandir in Mandla. However, their marital life was marked by stress, and Manish Sharma allegedly subjected her to troubles. The situation intensified as he sought nomination in her service book, insurance, and bank account, a request consistently denied by the SDM.

Fatal Dispute and Attempted Cover-up

A dispute on Sunday escalated tragically, leading to Nisha Napit Sharma’s death as her husband allegedly pressed her mouth with a pillow. Following the incident, the accused went to great lengths to hide the evidence, involving cleaning the crime scene items in a washing machine. However, the police and FSL team were able to gather sufficient evidence against him.

The authorities have registered a case against the accused under IPC sections 302, 304B, and 201. The accused is currently in custody, and a thorough investigation into the matter is in progress, shedding light on the details of this tragic incident.
