EU Agency to Probe Temu over sale of illegal products
Under Digital Services Act (DSA), European Union has launched a probe into Chinese-founded e-commerce platform, Temu over the sale of illegal products. As Temu has on average of around 92 million monthly active users, and its the obligation of tech firms to do more to protect European Union Consumers.
Temu has to explain regarding the preventive measures to adress the ant type of risk. European system probe aims on Temu’s system, and would look on the platforms follows/complys with obligations , said the commission. The European Union further added there is no deadline for completion of probe, and opening of the formal proceeding doesn’t prejudged its outcome.
On the probe news, “Temu stated it would co-operate with the European union, and Temu takes its obligations under DSA with seriousness, focus on strengthening the compliance system and safeguard the consumer intrest in platform”.
