    Strait of Hormuz Would Reopen Only if US fulfills the Conditions: Supreme National Security Council of Iran

    New Delhi, August 09, 2026 [VoM News]: The key energy maritime route would be opened only, when the United States changes its approach towards the Iran, Supreme National Security Council said.

    While setting the demands, the Supreme council stated that Washington must lift the naval blockade, end its military campaign against Iran and its regional allies, lift the naval blockade on Iranian ports, and withdraw its forces from the region.

    While maintaining the crystal clear stand that United States had to pay compensation for war-related damage, and lifting the sanctions, with the unconditional release of Iranian assets frozen abroad.

    Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tehran was very close to reaching an agreement with Oman on navigation through the waterway, including the identification of a designated transit route.

    He added that reopening of the one of the world’s most critical energy corridors would be subjected to the fulfillment of the other conditions as put forward.

    Meanwhile, as the global key route is shut for maritime traffic, and talks are going on with the medication of Oman which, per the sources are going in positive and constructive way.

    The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) has said that Iranian missile has struck vessel east of Khasab, Oman causing fire, with no causalities, escalating the tensions.
