Flash floods damage homes, school in Kishtwar; relief efforts underway

Kishtwar, April 29, 2024 : The heavy rain and flash floods persist in District Kishtwar for 4 days, with today’s reports from Tehsildars indicating damage to houses in Tehsil Nagseni, Mughalmaidan, and Kishtwar, respectively.Tehsildar Nagseni reported 01 Kacha house fully damaged.

Meanwhile, at tehsil Mughalmaidan , 07 Pacca houses and 2 Kacha houses have been reported partially damaged.In Tehsil Kishtwar, 1 Pacca house severely damaged,1 Kacha house have been partially damaged & 1 cattle shed reportedly fully damaged.

Besides one Primary School got partially damaged.Prompting the relocation of affected families to nearby safe places and accommodations by the administration under the overall supervision of District Magistrate Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav IAS, the Red Cross team is actively involved in delivering relief materials and essential support to those affected.
