
Iran to Pursue Legal Action Against Israel, United States Over Assassination of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei
TEHRAN, July 6 [VoM News]: The reports are coming from Iran that process of pursuing legal action against Israel and the United States over the assassination of former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has been initiated as per government spokeswoman Fatemeh Mohajerani.
As per reports, Fatemeh Mohajerani made these remarks during the second day of Khamenei’s funeral ceremonies.
Mohajerani said the government had started collecting evidence and documentation to support the legal complaint. She added that Iran’s Presidential Legal Office, in coordination with the Foreign Affairs Ministry, is overseeing the process.
She added that the Khamenei’s guidance had not been fully implemented during his lifetime and stressed that carrying forward his policies was now the country’s most important responsibility.
Meanwhile, funeral ceremonies continued in Tehran, where crowds gathered at the Imam Khomeini Grand Mosalla to pay their respects.
Videos circulated by Iranian media showed some mourners chanting anti-US and anti-Israel slogans, including calls against U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Supreme Leader Khamenei was killed in February 2026 ,when United States strikes allied with Israel targeted the popular & powerful figure of Iran.

To avoid any regime change, manipulated by anti-govt protests, the council approved the appointment of his son Mojtaba Khamenei as Iran’s Next Supreme Leader.
Though, some reports says the Mojtaba Khamenei is wounded and absence from father’s funeral raises the concern whether is he alive or not.
So far, Iranian sources have cited the security threat as the reason for his absense. The senior clerics led the prayers in his absense.
