After Punjab Kings (PBKS) suffered a defeat against Gujarat Titans (GT) in their recent IPL match, PBKS captain Sam Curran acknowledged that they missed scoring 10-15 runs with the bat. Despite this, he praised his bowlers for their dedication and resilience. The match at Mullanpur Stadium saw Sai Kishore’s impressive four-wicket haul and Rahul Tewatia’s crucial performance leading GT to a three-wicket victory.

During the post-match presentation, Sam Curran commented, “We were a bit short in our batting effort. Our bowling was commendable, showing great commitment and spirit. GT’s spinners Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmed, along with Sai Kishore, bowled exceptionally well. This was our third match on this pitch; aiming for over 160 would have been ideal. Despite this, we fought hard. Prabhsimran Singh played a good innings in the powerplay, but unfortunately, we lost wickets in quick succession. We now understand our task and need to win every upcoming game.”

However, it was Harpreet Brar (29) and Harpreet Singh (14) who helped PBKS cross the 100-run mark. GT’s Sai Kishore took four wickets for 33 runs.

GT also faced challenges during their chase, but Rahul Tewatia (36*), captain Shubman Gill (35), and Sai Sudharsan (31) ensured their team reached the target with three wickets and five balls remaining. Harshal Patel was the standout bowler for PBKS, taking three wickets for 15 runs. Sai Kishore was named the Player of the Match.

With this win, GT occupies the sixth position in the IPL standings with four wins and four losses, accumulating eight points. Meanwhile, PBKS is in ninth place, having won two matches and lost six, earning them four points.
