US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, currently on a Middle East tour, said any future agreement with Iran must ensure freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, a vital route for global energy shipments.
US President Donald Trump claimed Iran had agreed to the “highest level” of nuclear inspections, though Tehran responded that there is still no clear timetable for implementing such measures.
Meanwhile, the Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian reiterated that Iran’s ballistic missile programme is not open for negotiation during the ongoing talks with Washington.
Nevertheles, Israel and Lebanon began a fifth round of US-mediated negotiations, with Israel’s envoy reportedly describing the discussions as a “train wreck”, highlighting persistent disagreements between the sides.
On the ground, Israeli forces opened fire in southern Lebanon, killing two people. Hezbollah condemned the incident as a “blatant violation” of the ceasefire.
Whereas, In Washington, the US Senate approved a war powers resolution directing President Trump to halt military action against Iran, marking the first such approval by the chamber.

Iran-US War LIVE Updates June 24, 2026: Four More South Korean Ships Safely Exit Strait of Hormuz
South Korea's Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries has announced that four additional South Korean-operated vessels have safely passed through the Strait of Hormuz, bringing the total number of South Korea-linked ships to exit the region to six.
According to the ministry, the four vessels, carrying 26 South Korean crew members, had been waiting inside the strait and are now sailing normally. One of the ships is reportedly en route back to South Korea.
With the latest departures, the number of South Korea-linked vessels remaining in the Strait of Hormuz has dropped to 18.
The development comes as the International Maritime Organization (IMO) continues efforts to evacuate more than 11,000 sailors who have been stranded in the strategic waterway for months amid regional tensions.
