United States Would Reconsider the Talks if Iran Fails to Honour Its Commitments, Including UN Nuclear Inspections, Says President Donald Trump
Washington, June 24, 2026 [VoM News]: On one side, Donald Trump has faced a setback as the US Senate approved a war powers resolution directing the President to end US military involvement in the conflict with Iran.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump has warned that if Tehran refuses to allow inspections by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Washington could halt the ongoing technical negotiations, as inspection access is a key part of the current diplomatic process.
Donald Trump made these remarks during a media interaction in Pennsylvania, stating that the United States would reconsider the talks if Iran fails to honour those commitments, including allowing UN nuclear inspections. He said the deployment of inspectors would take place at an appropriate stage of the negotiations.
President Trump also said that the United States has a firm stance on preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.

Dismissing Iran’s claim that no agreement has been reached on nuclear inspections, Trump said the negotiators had secured firm assurances from Tehran.
It appears that the US-Iran talks are becoming strained, as statements and counter-statements from both sides continue to reflect uncertainty surrounding the proposed agreement.
