Vigilant Railway Staff Thwart Potentially Catastrophic Incident in Maharashtra
A potential catastrophe was narrowly averted in Maharashtra’s Pimpri-Chinchwad when alert railway personnel discovered large boulders deliberately placed on the tracks. The vigilant actions of the railway staff helped prevent a disaster. The incident unfolded when a guard on a Pune-bound suburban train, running on parallel tracks, spotted the obstructive boulders and promptly informed the Chinchwad station master.
The station master immediately alerted the loco pilot (driver) of the 16352 UP Nagarcoil-Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) Express, which was traveling on the adjacent tracks. Thanks to this quick response, the CSMT Express was brought to a halt in the nick of time around Chinchwad.
Authorities are now launching an investigation to determine the motives behind this dangerous act. Shivaji Manaspure, CPRO Central Railway, shed light on the incident, stating that a patrolling team had spotted large boulders at five different locations on the tracks, positioned 10-20 meters apart. The intention behind this act appears to be malicious, possibly orchestrated by anti-social elements. The patrolling team swiftly removed the boulders to avert a potential disaster.
A comprehensive search of the surrounding areas is currently underway to gather any possible clues or evidence that may help identify those responsible for this perilous incident.
