    Two Deaf Judokas from JK Chosen for World Championship

    Two deaf judokas, Rakhshinda Mehak and Vishal Khajuria, hailing from Jammu and Kashmir, have been chosen to compete in the upcoming World Deaf Judo Championship in Turkestan, Kazakhstan. The championship is scheduled from April 11 to 15, 2024.

    Under the mentorship of Suraj Bhan Singh, Chief Judo Coach at MA Stadium Judo Centre, they have honed their skills for this prestigious event.

    Out of the six-member Indian team participating in the championship, two athletes are from the Jammu and Kashmir region. The team’s participation is facilitated by the Deaf Sports Council of India and sponsored by the Sports Authority of India.

    Notably, Rakhshinda Mehak had previously secured a Bronze medal in the 2021 World Deaf Judo Championship held in Paris, France.
