Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh expressed her admiration for teammate Ellyse Perry, attributing the Australian legend’s guidance and contributions to their team’s victory in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) final against Delhi Capitals.
Ghosh and Perry formed a crucial partnership that propelled RCB to victory, successfully chasing down a target of 114 in a closely contested final. Praising Perry’s all-round skills, Ghosh emphasized the Australian’s invaluable role in both batting and bowling, which played a pivotal role in RCB’s maiden WPL title triumph.

“Batting with Ellyse Perry was a wonderful experience. She provided valuable guidance, and her performances with both bat and ball were instrumental in our success. She is truly a legend,” Ghosh remarked.
Perry’s outstanding performance throughout the tournament earned her the Orange Cap for scoring the most runs, tallying 347 runs at an impressive average of 69.4, including two half-centuries. Additionally, she contributed with the ball, claiming seven wickets, including a remarkable six-wicket haul.
Reflecting on RCB’s triumph, Ghosh expressed her joy at finally securing a trophy for the team and eagerly anticipated celebrating with the fans in Bengaluru. She also highlighted the special moment when the team received a video call from former RCB men’s skipper Virat Kohli after their win.
Delhi Capitals, batting first after winning the toss, got off to a strong start with openers Shafali Varma and skipper Meg Lanning. However, RCB’s bowlers, led by Shreyanka Patil, Sophie Molineux, and Asha Sobhana, staged a remarkable comeback to restrict Delhi to 113 runs.

In the chase, RCB faced a few hurdles but eventually emerged victorious, with contributions from Sophie Devine, Smriti Mandhana, Perry, and Ghosh. The team displayed resilience and determination to clinch the title, with Molineux earning the Player of the Match award for her stellar performance.
