Malaysia Strongly Condemns Israeli Attack on Palestinians Seeking Aid in Gaza
Malaysia has vehemently criticized Israel for the “cowardly” mass killing of Palestinians seeking food aid in Gaza.
The Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on Saturday, denouncing the shooting of “defenceless Palestinians” and urging the international community to intervene.
According to the statement, Malaysia calls on the world to “demand Israel stop atrocities and abide by its obligations under international law.”
The ministry emphasizes that Israel’s actions not only violate international law but also defy the International Court of Justice’s provisional measures issued on January 26, 2024, and the 1948 Genocide Convention.
The Gaza Health Ministry reported that 115 Palestinians lost their lives, and over 700 were injured when Israeli troops and tanks fired upon a gathering near Gaza City.
The crowd had assembled to receive scarce humanitarian food supplies on Thursday night. Malaysia’s condemnation underscores the global call for justice and accountability in the face of these tragic events.
