Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha declared on Wednesday that he will continue to serve in the Union Territory (UT) until the successful completion of assembly elections. He made this statement at Abhinav Theatre Jammu during the Abhinandan Samaroh organized by the All Minority Employees Association of Kashmir. LG Sinha clarified, “While many assume that I am here to contest elections, I want to make it clear that I have no interest in politics.”
During his address, Sinha emphasized that achieving peace is a gradual process that cannot be bought but necessitates intentional efforts, and the government is committed to reaching this objective. He stated, “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we are resolute in eliminating terrorism and ensuring a safe and secure environment for the people. Terrorism is on its last legs, and we will soon eradicate the terror ecosystem from the soil of J&K. The infusion of peace and development has brought about a significant positive change in people’s lives and their standard of living.”
Drawing attention to J&K’s diversity, the LG underscored that the region is a melting pot of major religions, and the respect for all sects has enriched its cultural heritage. Sinha also announced the administration’s support for the 5163 youth registered with the Relief & Rehabilitation Department for self-employment opportunities.
