Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei Rejects Claims of JD Vance Regarding Allowing The Nuclear Inspectors
Tehran, June 23, 2026 [VoM News]:In a major political twist, Iran has rejected the claims made by the United States Vice President JD Vance that Tehran agreed to allow international nuclear inspectors into the country. As the negotiations were held in Switzerland, and some developments are being reported.
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei stated Iran’s cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency would continue solely within the framework of existing safeguards obligations and domestic legal requirements.

While interacting with Iran’s state-run IRNA news agency, Esmaeil Baqaei stated that Tehran’s interactions with the UN nuclear watchdog would proceed in accordance with the Safeguards Agreements, or relevant legislation passed by the Iranian Parliament, and decisions of the Supreme National Security Council.
After JD Vance stated the negotiations as very good, now, the counter statement has been issued nullifying the claims. Though, JD Vance stated a foundation for final agreement has been set between the two motion, but Iranian negotiatiors as per IRNA report has neither discussed its nuclear programme during the recent talks nor accepted any new nuclear-related commitments.
