In a significant breakthrough in the case involving the brutal train attack on a woman constable aboard a train last month, Uttar Pradesh police have successfully tracked down and eliminated the prime accused during a daring encounter operation. This incident unfolded on board the Saryu Express near Ayodhya, leaving the constable grievously injured with wounds to her face and head. She is currently receiving medical treatment at a hospital in Lucknow.
A Trail of Justice Unfolds
The prime suspect in this heinous attack, Anees Khan, was located and engaged in an encounter by law enforcement officers during an operation to apprehend him. Unfortunately, Khan succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment. However, justice continued its course as two of his associates, Azad and Vishambhar Dayal, were successfully apprehended and taken into custody.
Combining Technical and Manual Insights for Tracking
The successful tracing and apprehension of the accused can be attributed to a combination of modern technology and dedicated investigative efforts. The victim played a crucial role in identifying Khan from a photograph. Utilizing this vital lead, the Ayodhya Police, in collaboration with a special task force, launched a coordinated operation to bring the culprits to justice.

A Brave Standoff Ends in Tragedy
During the raid, the criminal trio opened fire on the approaching officers, sparking a perilous standoff. This forced the law enforcement personnel to respond in kind. The intense gunfight resulted in two of the criminals sustaining injuries and subsequent arrests, while the third managed to escape, prompting a massive search operation. However, when the fugitive was located once more, he chose to confront the officers, leading to a tragic exchange of gunfire. Regrettably, he did not survive his injuries.
Justice Prevails Amid Public Outcry
The attack on the woman constable inside the train compartment occurred on August 30th, prompting her brother to file a police report the same day. Subsequently, the case garnered significant attention, with the Allahabad High Court stepping in to ensure swift justice. The late-night hearing served as a platform for the court to admonish both the railway police and the Uttar Pradesh government for their handling of the case, underscoring the importance of expeditious action and accountability in the face of such heinous crimes.
