J-k Congress Protests Suspension of 141 MPs, Demands Reinstatement
On Friday, members of the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) staged a silent protest in Srinagar condemning the suspension of 141 MPs and calling for their immediate reinstatement.
The protesting JKPCC workers expressed their disappointment, labeling the suspensions as regrettable and unprecedented within the parliamentary context. Addressing the media, Imtiyaz Khan, the party’s District Srinagar President, stated, “These members were elected by the people’s votes, and suspending them is very unfortunate and shameful. This is an unprecedented incident in the history of parliament, and we strongly condemn this action.”
The workers demanded the reversal of the suspension, emphasizing that the protest would persist until the suspended members are reinstated. “We insist on the cancellation of the suspension of these members, and our protest will continue until this decision is revoked,” they declared.
