Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh Alleges Delay in Lockdown to Oust Kamal Nath’s Government in Madhya Pradesh
Jairam Ramesh, Congress General Secretary, has alleged that the Centre delayed the enforcement of the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020 to bring down the Kamal Nath-led government in Madhya Pradesh. Ramesh claimed that a 10-day period was allowed to ensure the government’s fall, referring to it as a conspiracy.
Fulfillment of Guarantees in Madhya Pradesh
Ramesh stated that the Congress party would fulfill its 12 guarantees for the upcoming elections in Madhya Pradesh. These guarantees include providing LPG cylinders for Rs 500, offering Rs 1500 per month for women, and implementing a farm loan waiver of up to Rs 2 lakh. Additionally, the first 100 units of electricity would be provided free of cost, and the electricity bills for up to 200 units of consumption would be reduced by half.
Status of the INDIA Bloc
When asked about the rift in the opposition’s INDIA bloc, Ramesh clarified that the alliance was primarily for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, with plans to strengthen it after the state assembly elections.
