Piyush Goyal Confident of BJP Victory in Madhya Pradesh Elections
Union Minister Piyush Goyal expressed confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is poised to win the upcoming Madhya Pradesh elections scheduled for November 17. Goyal stated that the BJP would form a “double-engine government” under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He praised Modi’s popularity and his commitment to taking India to new heights.
Onion Price Control and Buffer Stock
Addressing the increase in onion prices, Goyal highlighted the government’s efforts to manage the situation. He mentioned that the government increased the buffer stock of onions from two lakh tonnes to five lakh tonnes to ensure stability in uncertain monsoon conditions. As a result, onions are now available in the retail market at Rs 25 per kilo for the first time in India’s history.
Madhya Pradesh Elections on November 17
Madhya Pradesh is among the states scheduled for elections in one phase on November 17, with vote counting taking place on December 3. Voters will select legislators for the 230 Assembly constituencies in the state.
