Terrorist Leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun Issues Threats and Air Travel Warning
Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, the founder of the banned Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) and a designated terrorist, has released a video in which he warns Sikhs not to fly on Air India aircraft after November 19, claiming their lives could be at risk. He stated that there would be a global blockade against Air India, preventing its operation. Pannun’s video has been circulating on social media, raising concerns and prompting a travel warning.
Airport Name Change Threat and Cricket World Cup Reference
In the video, Pannun also claimed that Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport would be shut on November 19 and its name would be changed. He indicated that the airport would be renamed as “Shahid Beant Singh, Shahid Satwant Singh Khalistan airport” once Punjab achieves liberation. Pannun made a reference to the final match of the ongoing Cricket World Cup taking place on the same day, using provocative language.
History of Threats and Controversy
This is not the first time that SFJ chief Pannun has issued threats or made controversial statements. In a previous video, he urged Hindu-Canadians to leave Canada amid a diplomatic row between India and Canada over the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Pannun’s remarks caused distress and led to calls for his entry into Canadian territory to be banned. The ties between India and Canada have been strained, with allegations and counter-allegations between the two countries.
Challenges for Authorities
The threats and provocative statements made by Gurpatwant Singh Pannun pose challenges for authorities in addressing and mitigating security concerns. Ensuring the safety of the public and addressing issues related to extremism and terrorism remains a priority for governments and law enforcement agencies.
