Delhi Police Proactively Investigating Israel Embassy Blast Case
The Delhi Police have embarked on an extensive investigation following the blast near the Israel Embassy, analyzing footage from more than 100 CCTV cameras to track down the suspects involved. Sources indicate that the police are meticulously examining the footage to trace the suspects’ movements along the roads close to the explosion site, just before the incident occurred.
Simultaneously, the authorities have initiated the analysis of dump data from the area to identify active phone numbers during the period of interest. Approximately five thousand phone numbers were found active in the vicinity, and the police are exploring this data for crucial leads, as per sources.
Initially alerted by a call reporting a ‘blast’ near the Israel Embassy within the Chanakyapuri diplomatic enclave, the police, upon inspection, found no evidence of any explosion at the site.
However, following the incident, a letter addressed to the Israeli ambassador was discovered near the Israel Embassy. Sources revealed that the letter, written in English, contains threatening language and is attributed to a group named ‘Sir Allah Resistance.’ The police are currently scrutinizing the letter for further insights but have not disclosed specific details yet.
The call regarding the blast was received by the Delhi Fire Services at approximately 6 pm, prompting the swift response of the Delhi police crime unit, fire services, and bomb disposal squad to the location. Additionally, forensic experts from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) were deployed to investigate the site.
Contrary to initial claims, the special cell within the Delhi Police mentioned that no actual blast occurred at the scene, refuting earlier reports.
To bolster security measures, the authorities have heightened vigilance in the area and are maintaining a heightened presence while actively monitoring the region through surveillance via CCTV cameras.
