Doda Police Bats For Eradication of Drugs Menace In The District, Seeks Cooperation of Public

The Doda Police have nabbed a narcotic drug peddler and recovered 20 grams of Heroin (Chitta) like substance from his possession in the district.

Doda Police, which giving details stated that war against drugs menace will continue and also called on the public to co-operate with the police, provide the information about any type of suspicious activity regarding drug peddling, manufacturing and selling of illicit drugs.

While leveraging the details, Doda police/official sources said, a police party of Police Station Doda was deputed for Naka checking duty at Ganpat bridge on 20-04-2025.

At about 23:15 hrs one Motor Cycle bearing registration N.o JK02CD/6152 which was coming from Khellani side towards Doda was stopped for checking.

On inquiry, the rider of the motorcycle disclosed his name as Burhan Imtyaz S/O Imtyaz Ahmed R/O Irfanabad Doda.

On his personal search 20 grams of heroin (chitta) like narcotic substance was recovered from his possession. Accordingly case FIR No. 88/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act stand registered at PS Doda and further investigation has been taken up and forward, backward links are being ascertained.

SSP Doda, Sh Sandeep Mehta JKPS has urged the public to cooperate with the police and provide information about any suspicious activities, enabling timely action to be taken against this menace.
