India and Uzbekistan Look to Strengthen Ties through Historic Event
The 25th UN World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) Summit, set to commence in Samarkand, will see the participation of over 160 countries from around the world. Hosted by Uzbekistan, this event is viewed as an opportunity to discuss tourism and investment issues that have the potential to bring nations closer together. Both India and Uzbekistan have a rich history of historical ties and are expected to benefit from this event.
A spokesperson from the Embassy of Uzbekistan expressed pride in hosting the UNWTO Summit, emphasizing the importance of the tourism and investment sectors in fostering global connections. India and Uzbekistan already have direct flight connections, and the summit is anticipated to further strengthen these ties.
While China currently leads in terms of tourism footfalls in Uzbekistan, the summit aims to address this balance. An investment forum during the summit will focus on attracting more investments to Uzbekistan, with a particular emphasis on partnerships in the education sector.
Tourism, a gateway to history and a significant source of income worldwide, fosters international unity without bias. Uzbekistan seeks to uphold the principle that every guest should be treated with the same respect as a family treats their father. The goal is to ensure that delegates attending the event return with this welcoming spirit and further strengthen the bonds between nations.
