Former MLA Javid Baig Officially Joins NC
Javid Hussain Baig, the former MLA and nephew of ex-deputy chief minister Muzaffar Husssain Baig, officially joined the National Conference on Friday.
Baig’s entry into the party was marked by his presence alongside party vice president Omar Abdullah and other esteemed senior leaders. Having recently been expelled from the Apni Party, Baig, a PDP legislator from the Baramulla assembly segment in 2014, found a new political home.
His expulsion from the PDP came in the aftermath of the abrogation of Article 370, as he had engaged with foreign envoys brought in by the Centre to Kashmir.
In the 2020 district development council polls, Baig faced defeat in both seats contested within the Baramulla assembly segment, conceding victory to the Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD).
