In a tragic incident, at least four policemen on election duty were killed in a terror attack in the Kulachi area of Dera Ismail Khan district in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region. No Claim of Responsibility:
- As of now, no individual or group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
- The area has previously been a stronghold of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, known for multiple attacks against security forces.
Recent Security Concerns in Pakistan:

- Despite security challenges, Pakistan’s Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja assured that the Election Management System is not dependent on the Internet, ensuring the continuity of the election process.
Ongoing General Elections:
- Polling for the general elections began at 8:00 am and will continue until 5:00 pm.
- Over 128 million registered voters are eligible to cast their votes.
- The attack underscores security concerns during the electoral process, with authorities taking measures to maintain the integrity and safety of the elections.
