Uttarakhand Cabinet Greenlights Final Draft of Uniform Civil Code
The final draft of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) has received approval from the Uttarakhand Cabinet, paving the way for its presentation in the state Assembly. The special four-day session, set to commence on Monday, will be dedicated to deliberations and decisions on this significant legislative proposal. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami chaired the Cabinet meeting on Sunday, where the extensive UCC draft gained unanimous support.
Meticulous Crafting of the UCC Draft
The final draft of the UCC, spanning 740 pages across four volumes, was submitted to Chief Minister Dhami on Friday. A five-member panel, led by retired Supreme Court judge Ranjana Prakash Desai, meticulously crafted this document, addressing various legal intricacies and complexities.
