Widespread dense fog persisted in various parts of the Kashmir Valley on Friday, with three locations, including Ganderbal, experiencing the coldest night of the season, intensifying the prevailing nighttime chill across the region.

Temperatures remained below freezing across the Valley, with Ganderbal, Budgam in Central Kashmir, and Bandipora in North Kashmir registering the lowest temperatures of the season at minus 6.7 degrees Celsius. Pahalgam in South Kashmir recorded a low of minus 5.4 degrees Celsius.

Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu & Kashmir, experienced a chilling temperature of minus 3.3 degrees Celsius, while Qazigund in South Kashmir recorded a low of minus 4.2 degrees Celsius. The renowned ski resort of Gulmarg reported a low of minus 2.5 degrees Celsius.

In North Kashmir, Kupwara recorded a low of minus 4.0 degrees Celsius, and Kokernag in the south registered a minimum temperature of minus 2.6 degrees Celsius. The frigid conditions persisted, underscoring the winter’s firm grip on the Kashmir Valley.
