Haryana Government Embraces Drone Technology for Multifaceted Advancements
The Haryana government is actively integrating drone technology across various sectors, signaling a significant technological leap in land mapping, crime prevention, and agricultural enhancement.
In a recent board of directors meeting held by the Drone Imaging and Information Systems of Haryana (DRIISHYA) Limited, chaired by Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal, strategies were deliberated to maximize drone technology’s potential across diverse realms.
Drones are rapidly becoming an integral part of Haryana’s governance blueprint, catering to diverse needs from traffic monitoring to revolutionizing agricultural practices.
The board meeting, led by the Chief Secretary and Senior Vice Chairperson of DRIISHYA, addressed pivotal issues and formulated key decisions to harness drone technology’s potential.
Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal highlighted, “DRIISHYA is collaborating with DCP Traffic, Gurugram, to introduce drone-based land surveying on national highways.
To meet the escalating demand, the agency plans to expand its drone fleet by incorporating 20 new large-scale drones, along with six specialized agricultural drones designed for nano-fertilizer spraying demonstrations.”
Kaushal emphasized the recent recruitment drive by DRIISHYA, which added 20 drones and 16 co-pilots after rigorous examinations in partnership with DeenBandhu Chotu Ram University of Science and Technology, Murthal.
Recognizing the transformative role of drone technology in agriculture, Kaushal stated, “DRIISHYA has experienced a surge in requests, particularly from farmers seeking to master drone operations.
The agency acknowledges current training limitations and actively seeks opportunities to establish dedicated training facilities, notably at the Horticulture University in Karnal.”
He highlighted the impact of these efforts in popularizing drone technology, empowering end-users like farmers to optimize productivity.
DRIISHYA’s accomplishments extend across domains, covering expansive mapping initiatives for efficient land administration and urban planning in areas like Bhiwani and Gurugram.
The agency’s focus on infrastructural integrity was evident from thermal inspections conducted on critical power lines.
Additionally, their training programs, along with drone-assisted nano-fertilizer spraying initiatives benefiting Karnal’s farmland, underscore the agency’s commitment to disseminating knowledge and advancing sustainable technology in Haryana.
The meeting witnessed the presence of several senior officials, including Additional Chief Secretary of Revenue and Disaster Management and Consolidation Department, TVSN Prasad, Additional Chief Secretary of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department, Sudhir Rajpal, and others, collectively showcasing the government’s commitment to technological advancement in the state.
