    VoM News Desk, July 09 Google has began using new conversational AI functions in Gmail and Google Keep on a trial basis, as they are soon to be rolled out in full this coming summer. Announced during the company’s Google I/O 2026 developer event, the new tools will make it easier for users to get things done via voice instead of typing.

    According to some reports the features are being rolled out for testing to a select few users in US. In Google Keep when you use a new “Live” button it brings up voice input where you can dictate new notes or change existing notes. Voice command may also set reminders, which are sent via Google Tasks. The microphone can be muted, spoken to, or recording canceled from within the interface.

    Something like a voice interface is also in Gmail. Once rolled out, and should assist users in searching mailbox and providing answer to their queries in natural conversations.

    Google had also revealed “Docs Live,” a new tool that allows to voice ideas, create preliminary documents and then built on them. (It can be granted access to any cloud, from Gmail, to Google Drive, Chat and the web).

    Google has not disclosed specific release plans but indicated the enhanced AI features will start being available for Google AI Pro, Google AI Ultra, applicable Workspace users and compatible Android and iOS devices beginning this summer in the US. This rollout will occur around the same time as the Pixel 11 series.
