Chinese Manufacturer Developing New AI Smartphone Expected to Launch at World Artificial Intelligence Conference 2026
VoM News Desk, July 09, 2026 [VoM News]: Chinese smartphone manufacturer Nubia is preparing to introduce a new Ai-enabled handset at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) 2026 which is scheduled to take place in Shanghai from July 17 to July 20. Nubia President Ni Fei made the announcement about the new device, calling it the world’s first mass-produced Ai-enabled smartphone.
Though the company has yet to give the name of the new handset, it is believed to be the successor to the Nubia M153 that was released in China in late 2025 and was subsequently presented internationally at MWC 2026. Rumors from industry sources claim the new model will iron out certain shortcomings of the previous one, and will have added AI capabilities by teaming up with online services.

The next Android device from Nubia probably leans heavily on their latest AI platform from the M153 device, which was announced to have a Doubao AI assistant that could perform tasks in different programs with less user involvement, as well as a 24/7 digital sidekick known as the iMoochi.
The Nubia M153 was equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite platform supporting 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. While Nubia has not revealed the specifications for its new AI phone, the company is likely to emphasize artificial intelligence functionalities and system integration in the WAIC 2026 debut.
