Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dunki’ Set to Enter Rs 100 Crore Club, Celebrates Success with Fans
Amidst soaring success, Shah Rukh Khan’s latest release ‘Dunki’ is poised to join the prestigious Rs 100 crore club, marking his third consecutive hit this year. In a heartwarming gesture, the actor took to the streets outside his residence Mannat on Sunday, eliciting euphoria among fans who eagerly awaited a glimpse of their beloved star.
Clad in a chic blue sweater paired with jeans and sporting his trademark long hair tied back, SRK graciously greeted his admirers with folded hands and blew kisses, causing a traffic standstill in Bandra. ‘Dunki’ represents Shah Rukh Khan’s debut collaboration with director Rajkumar Hirani, renowned for blockbusters like ‘PK’, ‘Sanju’, ‘3 Idiots’, and ‘Munna Bhai’.
The film, released on December 21, has sparked conversations since its debut, receiving a mix of responses from both audiences and critics. Garnering over Rs 157.22 crores globally, ‘Dunki’ features an ensemble cast including Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Anil Grover, Boman Irani, and Vikram Kochhar.
In a recent event in Dubai, SRK expressed his deep connection with ‘Dunki’, describing it as his most cherished film. He conveyed his aspiration to create cinema close to his heart, culminating the year with a project that resonates personally. The movie tackles the poignant issue of immigration, drawing its title from the term “donkey journey,” signifying the arduous paths people traverse to reach their desired destinations.
With ‘Dunki’s’ remarkable success, Shah Rukh Khan notches three consecutive hits in his repertoire this year. He commenced the year with ‘Pathaan,’ breaking records at the box office in January, and captivated audiences in September with ‘Jawan,’ helmed by director Atlee. The actor’s celebratory connection with fans and his diverse cinematic choices continue to fortify his legacy in the Indian film industry.
