    London, June 16, 2026 [VoM News]: In a major push to strengethen the online safety regulations for minors, a new plan to ban social media access for children under 16 is likely to be announced in United Kingdom by Prime Minster Keir Starmer.

    As per the details available with VoM News, the policy would be one of the toughest measure to be implemented to regulate the children’s online activity.

    Earlier, Australian govt introduced age-based social media rules for children. Now, under the same pattern, the UK Govt has proposed the restrictions which are being reported to apply across major social media platforms, including services such as TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, X and YouTube.

    Reports say that process could be made to heavily restrict or totally block under-16 users from accessing these platforms.
