SPO Killed in Hit-and-Run accident: Driver arrested in Anantnag, j-k
In the Mattan area of Anantnag district in Jammu and Kashmir, a tragic hit-and-run incident claimed the life of a Special Police Officer (SPO), as reported by officials.
The victim, identified as SPO Mohammad Maqbool Ganie, son of Abdul Aziz Ganie from Shangus, was struck by a speeding sumo vehicle with registration number JK012 1976 while performing his duties at a checkpoint in Bumzoo, according to authorities. Sustaining critical injuries in the collision, SPO Ganie tragically succumbed to his wounds on the way to the hospital.

The alleged perpetrator, identified as Muzaffar Ahmad Bhat, son of Mohammad Sidiq Bhat from Hapatnard Aishmuqam, has been apprehended by law enforcement. A case has been registered in connection with the incident, and further investigations are underway, as confirmed by a police.
