J-K Students Association Resolves Vendor Crisis Through Chief Ministerial Intervention
The Jammu and Kashmir Students Association has stepped in to address the issue of harassment, detention, and forced removal of Kashmiri vendors by the Lucknow Municipal Corporation. They have brought the matter to the attention of the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s Office.
Manzoor Ahmad, the Uttar Pradesh President of the association, stated that Nasir Khuehami, the National Convenor, engaged with Awanish Awasthi, the Advisor to the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, urging swift intervention. Khuehami emphasized the importance of the safety and well-being of Kashmiri people, urging the Advisor to take notice of the incident and ensure their security.

In response to Khuehami’s plea, Awasthi assured full cooperation from the Chief Minister’s office. He conveyed that moving forward, all vendors would need permission from municipal authorities in Lucknow. Khuehami also mentioned that all detained vendors have been released, and the confiscated dry fruits, loaded onto vehicles by municipal authorities without cause, have been returned to the vendors.
This positive outcome follows the rapid involvement of the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s Office.Khuehami expressed appreciation for the prompt response of Advisor Awanish Awasthi, acknowledging not only the acknowledgment of the situation but also the assurance of necessary action to guarantee the safety of Kashmiri vendors.
