    The state of Rajasthan witnessed a 68.24% voter turnout in the Assembly elections held on Saturday, as reported by the Election Commission.

    Regional Voter Turnout Details

    • Bagidora saw a turnout of 78.21%.
    • The capital city Jaipur recorded 69.22%.
    • Jaisalmer had 76.57% turnout.
    • Ganganagar’s voter turnout stood at 72.09%.
    • Pokaran constituency reported the highest turnout with 81.12%.

    Earlier Polling Trends

    By 3 pm, Rajasthan had already recorded 55.63% polling across 199 assembly constituencies. The election in the Karanpur assembly constituency was adjourned due to the passing of the Congress candidate Gurmeet Singh Koonar.

    ver 5.26 crore voters were eligible to decide the fate of 1,875 candidates, including 183 female contestants, at 51,507 polling stations.

    • BJP’s Vasundhara Raje, a former Chief Minister, is contesting from Jhalarapatan.
    • Congress leader Sachin Pilot is contesting against BJP’s Ajit Singh Mehta in Tonk.
    • Rajasthan Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra is up against BJP’s Subhash Mehria in Lachhmangarh.

    Security Arrangements for the Polls

    A robust security arrangement involving over 1 lakh personnel, including police and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), was deployed to ensure peaceful voting. In the 2018 elections, the Congress secured 99 seats and formed the government with the support of BSP MLAs and independents, while BJP won 73 seats.
