Oppo Phones Set to Integrate Seamlessly with Windows PCs

Oppo, along with its sub-brands OnePlus and Realme, is enhancing connectivity with Windows PCs. At the 2023 Oppo Developers Conference, it was announced that Oppo smartphones will soon offer improved integration with Windows 11 and Windows 10, thanks to upcoming support for Microsoft’s Phone Link and Link to Windows applications.

    Software Update Requirement for Compatibility

For Oppo, OnePlus, and Realme phone users to access these new features, their devices will need to be updated to the latest versions of their respective operating systems: ColorOS for Oppo, OxygenOS for OnePlus, and Realme UI for Realme.

Expanded Support for Phone Link and Link to Windows

Originally exclusive to Microsoft Surface, Samsung, and Honor devices, the Phone Link app’s compatibility is now extended to include the Oppo Find series, Oppo Reno series, OnePlus series, and Realme series. This expansion marks a significant step in Microsoft’s efforts to make its mobile integration tools more universally accessible.

    Features and Functionalities

The integration will enable users to remotely display their phone screen, mirror apps, and access various functionalities directly from their Windows PCs. While Samsung phone users currently enjoy additional features like clipboard sync and file sharing, it’s unclear if these capabilities will be extended to Oppo, OnePlus, and Realme devices.

Awaiting Software Updates for Full Functionality

The full integration of Phone Link support for these devices is contingent on upcoming software updates. Oppo Find and Reno series are expected to receive the necessary update with ColorOS 14, whereas OnePlus and Realme users will likely need to wait for OxygenOS 14 and Realme UI 5, respectively. This move is poised to streamline the workflow for users of these devices, enhancing the synergy between their smartphones and Windows PCs.
