DODA, JUNE 10, 2026 [VoM News]: Doda East MLA Mehraj Malik issued a stern warning to the mafia and stated that the healthcare of people cannot be compromised in Doda.
Watch the video:
Earlier in the morning, Municipal Corporation sanitation employees protested against MLA Mehraj Malik and Omar Abdullah and also burned effigies of Malik. Slogans of “Go back, Go back” were raised during the protest.
The sanitation employees stated that everyone is aware that workers across Jammu and Kashmir are protesting and demanding regularisation. However, despite this, MLA Mehraj Malik allegedly pressured permanent employees and got the garbage removed from Doda town.
Responding to queries through mediatalk, Doda East MLA Mehraj Malik said that the demands of the sanitation workers are genuine and that the state government led by Omar Abdullah and the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi must address these issues.
Malik assured that he would continue to raise their issues, but added that garbage dumps in the town cannot be ignored as they could lead to several communicable diseases.
Mehraj Malik also issued a stern warning to the alleged mafia elements and stated that he would not tolerate such acts.
