US Hits Back at Iran After Downing of American Apache Helicopter, FM Abbas Araghchi Vows to Retaliate

JUNE 10, 2026 [VoM News]: After Iran struck down an American Apache attack helicopter near a key global energy route, the United States has now initiated a military response through fresh strikes. Earlier, President Donald Trump had vowed to respond to Iran’s attack.

As per the United States Central Command (CENTCOM), the American military targeted Iranian air defence systems, drone control stations and surveillance radar sites around Bandar Abbas and Qeshm Island.

The United States described the operation as a proportional response to the Iranian attack on its forces in the international maritime region.

Prior to this, United States President Donald Trump confirmed the downing of the Apache helicopter during a patrolling mission.

Fortunately, both crew members were safely rescued in what officials described as a drone-assisted sea rescue operation.

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has vowed to retaliate and condemned the strikes. He committed to responding strongly and vowed not to leave any attack unanswered.

Meanwhile, Tehran-based media also claimed that the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet in Bahrain was targeted by Iranian forces using drones. However, no official confirmation has been received so far.
